FCC Environment and Severn Waste Services, which operates EnviRecover, the energy recovery facility serving Worcestershire and Herefordshire, were delighted to welcome Nigel Huddleston MP, Member of Parliament for Mid Worcestershire, on his recent visit to the plant in Hartlebury.

Mr Huddleston toured the site, learning how the facility can treat up to 200,000 tonnes of residual household and commercial waste each year, powering local Worcestershire homes and businesses, and drastically reducing the amount of waste that residents send to landfill.

Envirecover provides some 40 permanent jobs across a wide range of skills exporting an average of 18MWh, which is enough to power approximately 32,000 homes.

Julie Fourcade, FCC Environment’s Head of External Affairs, said: “We very much enjoyed hosting Nigel Huddleston MP at the facility in Hartlebury – it was a fantastic opportunity to introduce him to the crucial role that Energy from Waste plays in processing excess waste here in the UK”.
