Essential works taking place at Dix Pit Household Waste Recycling Centre

Essential site maintenance works are set to get underway at Dix Pit Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Oxfordshire.

The centre will remain open during its normal opening hours throughout the works period between Monday 25 April and Tuesday 14 June, however, capacity at the site will be limited.

This will ensure residents visiting the site, as well as staff members, are safe at all times and kept separate from works as they take place.

A large area of concrete is being upgraded as well as some works on tarmac areas of the site.

All of the usual materials will be accepted during the works period apart from asbestos and plasterboard which can be taken to other Oxfordshire HWRCs.

Sara Perry, operations manager from FCC Environment, said: “The essential maintenance works at Dix Pit HWRC are vital to the safe and productive running of the site in the future and therefore are unavoidable.

“We do not expect the works to cause any major inconvenience and the site will remain open throughout the works period during normal opening hours.

“There is a possibility, however, that due to the reduced capacity, queues could be longer than usual.

“We thank the public in advance for their patience, apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are happy to answer any questions.”
