Welcome to Arpley Landfill Site
This is not an increase in the volume of waste the site will receive but an extension of time to complete site operations and land restoration. As part of these proposals, WRG will extend their commitment to manage and operate the Moore Nature Reserve by a further 14 years (until 2030).
An extensive consultation programme has taken place to ensure that people have had a say on all aspects of the proposal. Throughout the consultation people have been encouraged to take an active part in shaping the application and we have taken the time to conduct a detailed three stage consultation programme aimed at encouraging everyone to contribute.
In October 2011 we held a final exhibition to inform local residents and stakeholders about the final proposal prior to submitting the planning application to Warrington Borough Council in November 2011.
The Consultation
Over a period of 14 months, we held three public consultation events and five site open days, allowing people to comment on all aspects of the scheme.
During the first exhibition we sought feedback on two possible development options for the future development of the site. Attendees at this exhibition contributed to the preferred option to be taken forward (See first exhibition boards here).
A second exhibition was held where feedback was presented on the chosen development option and to present and engage the local community regarding traffic proposals (See Second exhibition boards here). Proposals included a vehicle cap and a vehicle routing strategy.
A third exhibition took place to feedback the results of the consultation to date and offer local people an opportunity to comment on the details presented (See Third exhibition boards here).
Throughout this time, the long running Community Liaison Group (CLG), has continued to meet to discuss the proposals along with the day-to-day running of the site.
Our commitment
1. We will continue to run the established CLG for the lifetime of the site.
2. The Traffic Working Group (TWG) will continue to exist should the community continue to express an interest in participation. Interested members of the public can request to join either the CLG or TWG by visiting thecontact us page.
3. This website will continue to be updated to ensure that you are kept up to date with the latest news and developments on this application.
4. We welcome your comments and will respond where ever possible. Please visit the contact us page.

News - Arpley Landfill Site and Moore Nature Reserve
This plan would ensure that WRG's management of Moore Nature Reserve would continue for the next 12 years.
Recognising that local residents and stakeholders are interested in operations at Arpley, WRG has consulted with the public on the proposed profile of the site. We are also consulting on our firm proposals for a cap on vehicle movements and vehicle routing strategies.
