What's Happening Now?

All waste vehicles visiting Bletchley Landfill Site are now using the new entrance on the eastern side of the site. The existing entrance near Newton Longville has been closed to all waste vehicles and landfill traffic.

The new entrance is served by a new access road that links with the roundabout on the western end of the A4146 Stoke Hammond bypass. The construction of the new dual-carriageway was financed by the previous site owner as a requirement for obtaining planning permission to extend the landfill operations in 2002.

The switch to the new entrance was undertaken successfully in stages in order to ensure the smooth operation of the new reception area which has also been constructed (to the south of the Blue Lagoon).

The new entrance has been fully open from early December 2007 and the original site entrance near Newton Longville has been closed to waste vehicles and landfill traffic.
