

About 50% of Waste Recycling Group´s business is accounted for by waste management contracts with more than 70 local authorities across England, Scotland and Wales. The Company is owned by the international construction and environmental services group, Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC), and operates facilities for the reception, recycling and disposal of waste, including a network of waste transfer and recycling centres and strategically situated landfill sites. WRG is also one of the largest operators of civic amenity sites on behalf of local authorities for use by the general public, including three in Milton Keynes.
Funding for community projects through WREN
Using funding from the landfill tax raised by WRG, many projects in the Milton Keynes area have benefited from landfill tax credits that have been distributed by WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Limited) through the landfill communities fund. WREN was formed by WRG in 1997 to ensure its own landfill tax credits are cost-effectively used to benefit the maximum number of people it can, especially those who live near landfill sites.
