Proposed restoration plan (0.84 MB)
As a requirement of the 2002 planning permission, a restoration plan has been submitted to the Council which is designed to improve the landscape and create an environment that will enhance local flora and fauna.
Landfill sites are restored in phases and work at Bletchley is already underway. The football pitches at the western end of the site are located on previously restored land and provide a local amenity use. Plans for the rest of the site include a mixture of woodland, agricultural and further amenity land uses, with an emphasis on ecological improvement and public access in the longer-term.
The restoration plan is designed to create an environment that will blend naturally with the surrounding landscape and complement existing areas of ecological interest such as the Blue Lagoon nature reserve.
