Bentinck Tip and Void - Welcome
Waste Recycling Group has submitted a planning application to Nottinghamshire County Council to reclaim and restore the former colliery site Tip and Void at Bentinck.
When the Annesley-Bentinck Colliery closed in 2000 it left an extensive area of derelict land, known as Bentinck tip and void. The northern part of the land had started to be filled using colliery waste, whilst the southern part was sold by the Coal Authority for landfill.
Now Waste Recycling Group Limited (WRG), one of the leading waste management and energy recovery companies in Europe, is bringing forward proposals to restore the area of the former tip and void by bringing in new materials for fill, in line with requirements set out in Nottinghamshire's Waste Local Plan.
This application will replace a former application for landfill of the Void alone, submitted by Terry Adams Ltd.
